Single direction tapered roller thrust bearings are designed to carry axial loads in one direction with very small radial load carrying capacity. They comprise of a shaft washer with inside diameter slightly smaller than the housing washer, a housing washer with outside diameter slightly larger than the shaft washer, and a tapered roller and cage assembly.
The washer raceways are tapered and the center of the taperlines of the raceways and the rollers coincide with the bearing center to provide perfect rolling.
